farming?
Where do people farm in guild wars?
And where can I farm as level 7-10. I know this is different than WoW, I just haven't adjusted yet. |

People don't farm until they are level 20, or a permanent Pre-Searing character. You farm to obtain items/gold to allow you to purchase new armor/weapons/mini-pets/etc. A level 7-10 will be restricted in skills, attributes, armor, and locations. What you have available to farm is a waste of time. People that farm are farming monsters that are level 20+, come in decent sized groups (usually), and are in end game areas, or Hard Mode.
WHAT you farm depends on what you want. If you want Obsidian Armor, then you would want to Farm ecto in the Underworld, and Obsidian Shards in the Fissure of Woe. If you want a rare skin weapon like the Elemental Sword, then you farm the monsters that can drop one. If you want money, you farm whatever you can that you can farm fast. There is no point to farming in Guild Wars outside of getting something you WANT. Everything you NEED can be obtained easy, and cheap. |

BUT It's a SHAME Anet has nerfed farming to the point that for those of us WANTING things, no longer needing, it has become pointless to play. Seems the changes to the game since release of GW:EN have done nothing, but DRIVE, experienced players away from the game. Seems a bad business model that says "so what if they play other mmo's til we get GW2 launched. They'll all coming running back and give us their money again" Many in our player group (300+ active) have played since orginal beta, and many of us feel "Once bitten, twice shy" At least for me, if I find another well done mmo before GW2 realease it is doughtful I'll be buying it. |

I understand from reading all the whines that GW is obviously not the same game that shipped 3+ years ago. For me, that's a good thing. I love the game I started with last year, I doubt I would have loved the epeen driven forced into guilds or pugs we don't even have heros game of yesterday. Games with this long of a shelf life change or they really do die out. Just because one generation of gamer has tired of what the game was or has become, doesn't mean ANet won't continue to generate revenue until GW2 comes out. More than three years running of having their games prominently featured at Wal-Mart and Target have doubtless done a lot more to make them money than any sort of continued catering to the player base that lived to hoard digital goods even more so than is relatively easy now. |
